Privacy policy
In short
- Arcadist has no user accounts and no server of its own. Your library, your notes and your store sign-ins stay on your phone.
- The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
- The app connects to the stores you sign in to and to a few game-information services. Each is listed below with what it receives.
- Your store passwords never reach Arcadist. Sign-ins are encrypted on your phone and are never part of a backup.

Data the app keeps on your phone
Arcadist stores the following in its private app storage on your device. We do not receive any of it.
- Your library: game titles, store product IDs, the store and account each entry came from, play time and last-played dates where a store provides them, and when an entry was last confirmed.
- Your accounts: the name you give each account, the account ID and display name the store reports, its region where known, and how it is connected ("Manual", "Profile saved" or "Connected").
- Your own entries: favourites, play status, ratings, notes, physical copies, your PlayStation Plus statement, wishlist and personal lists, and any corrections you make.
- Game information: descriptions, genres, release dates and covers fetched for your games.
- Settings: for example the content language and the sync schedule.
- Sign-ins and keys: store sessions and tokens, an optional Steam Web API key, and developer credentials you enter in the settings (see below). These are encrypted with a key held by Android Keystore.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this from your phone. Inside the app you can remove a sign-in, delete an account, or delete entries.
Services the app connects to
Every connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Like any internet request, it shows the receiving service your IP address and basic technical information about the app and device. These services process that data under their own privacy policies.
| Service | When | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Valve (Steam) | Sign-in, sync, game descriptions, covers | Your Steam session or your own API key and account ID; for descriptions only the game's Steam ID and your content language |
| Epic Games | Sign-in, and syncs you start yourself | The sign-in token for your Epic account |
| GOG | Sign-in, sync, game information, covers | Your GOG session cookie; for game information only GOG product IDs |
| Sony (PlayStation) | Sign-in and sync | Your NPSSO (once) or refresh token, and the Sony app credentials you entered |
| Microsoft (Xbox) | Sign-in and sync | Your Microsoft sign-in and refresh token |
| Amazon (Luna test) | Only when you run the session test | Your Amazon session cookies |
| IGDB and Twitch (Amazon) | Fetching game information, covers and the Discover search | Game titles, store IDs and your search terms, plus the Twitch developer credentials you entered; no store account data |
| Security checks on sign-in pages | While you are on a store's sign-in page | The stores may load Google reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or Cloudflare checks on their own pages |
What each store sign-in grants and what Arcadist reads with it is explained on the store sign-in page.
The development version requires your own developer credentials for IGDB (from a Twitch application) and for PlayStation (Sony app credentials). They are entered by you, stored encrypted on your phone and never backed up.
Background sync and notifications
If you turn on scheduled sync, Android runs it in the background and Arcadist shows a notification while it runs. Epic is never read on this schedule, only when you start a sync yourself. A failed or interrupted sync never deletes entries.
Backups
- Android backup and device transfer: if you use Android's backup to your Google account or move to a new phone, your library database and settings can be included. Sign-ins, keys and credentials are always excluded.
- Arcadist backup file: you can export a backup file and choose where to save it. It contains your library and your own entries, never sign-ins, keys or credentials.
Purchase check
When you share a store link with Arcadist, the link is compared with your library on your phone. The check itself sends nothing to us or to the store.
Your rights
Because the app keeps your data on your phone and we receive none of it, you can view, correct, export and delete it directly in the app. Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you may complain to a data protection supervisory authority. For anything about Arcadist, write to [email protected]. For data held by a store or service listed above, contact that provider.
